Does age affect reaction time?

nohasm191
Yes, age plays a significant role in reaction time. Younger individuals, especially those in their teens and early twenties, tend to have the fastest reaction speeds. As people age, neural processing slows down, leading to slightly  human benchmark longer reaction times. However, the decline is gradual and can be minimized with regular mental and physical activity. Older individuals who stay active often maintain better reflexes than inactive younger people. While age is a factor, it does not entirely determine performance. Practice, focus, and lifestyle choices can still greatly influence reaction speed regardless of age.
